On Monday morning, a tragic accident occurred in the Ramnagar area of Barabanki district when a speeding truck collided with a car on the Lucknow-Bahraich highway, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and leaving three others seriously injured.
According to police reports, the incident took place near a dhaba at the Ganeshpur turn in the Ramnagar police jurisdiction, where a car traveling from Lucknow to Gonda was struck head-on by a truck coming from the opposite direction.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was completely mangled. The victims included Sudhir Maurya (35), his wife Shanti Maurya (33), brother-in-law Ramashankar Maurya (38), and the driver Ayaan Qureshi (23), all of whom died at the scene. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
Sources indicated that the injured individuals, including Pooja Kushwaha (32), Aksh (9), and Anvi (5), were rushed to the district hospital for treatment.
Following the accident, traffic was severely disrupted, causing a jam that extended for nearly two kilometers on the highway. Police worked diligently to clear the congestion.
Relatives of the deceased, including Radheshyam Maurya, shared that the victims were returning from a family event in Kanpur when the accident occurred.
